I've liked the look of these for some time but as I didn't have a penrhyn loco I have never bought any, my grandad has bought an ogwen so that may change!

They are very nice little kits, and im really happy with the way its come out, just going to order another one as the sale is still on and it will boost my passenger stock which at the moment is only this ,

As you can tell my line has a bit of everything i go by the simple principle of if i like it i get one, as its my railway and ill run what i want ooh they look like very nice locos, Terry Collins on the Longmead Branch has one sitting in his engine shed

Hi All,

Just a quick update:

The Penrhyn Quarrymen's Coach now has all its seats and is very close to completion just need to do the brake gear now and its finished  :D

Heres a few pics:





And also a bit more work was achieved on the VoR Guards Van

Today I got around to painting the steps and handrails on the back of the coach and giving the whole back panel another coat of black, where the L.E.D is will be a taillamp, so heres the pics: (paint was still wet when the photos were taken  :D )




In other news the HWLR's Manager has just become an Uncle  :D   , Last night my sister gave birth to a 5lb 14oz Baby Girl which they have named Skye  :D  The HWLR's Loco SKYE is very pleased to have a member of the family named after her  :D

Well a very special 2 day old came around today , and SKYE (loco) happened to be on the table after having a bit of painting done on her underside, my sister soon touched on the point that the name given to her daughter Skye had grown on her since she'd seen the loco soo much since its construction and through the painting stage and got to like the name soo much that she named her new daughter it

I was finally able to get outside and take some proper pictures, but this was short lived as it started raining instead!

The VoR Gaurds Van: Just needs windows, tidying up here and there with the paintwork, paint scribed out between the planks, and needs the roof and the taillamp added and the interior painted.

Hi All,

Just another quick update the VoR Guards/Brake is now complete!! apart from a little bit here and there (taill lamp and small areas that need a little bit more paint, and scribing out between the planks)

Ill just let the pictures do the talking:










An order has been placed for another Penryhn Quarrymens coach and a Ffestiniog Quarrymen Coach.

What do you scribe between the planks with? Sounds like a good idea, particularly if you've been a bit heavy with the paint!

I use sewing pin's, theyre just the right size for going between the planks, and can give excellent results, i have done one small section of the coach and you can really see the difference! Sometimes it takes 2-3 strokes on each plank but the results are worth it!

I know what what you mean this has guards/brake has had about 6 coats in all, first it was in green it's in now, this changed to a blackcurrant colour purple, then to dark blue and back to its present green so its had some heavy painting!!

Hi All,

Just a quick update from the HWLR; The Ffestiniog Quarrymens and the 2nd Penrhyn Quarrymens Coaches, have both arrived and construction has commenced, I may put some piccies up soon of the progress made so far.

Plans are also being drawn up for a special type of wagon, hopefully a rake will be made but this decision will be made after looking at the cost of one, i dont want to give too much away but I havent seen anything like it or similar modelled in narrow gauge terms before, I have a few new ideas I want to experiment with throughout 2011, some old but also some new and hope that you will like them

Feel free to have a guess if you think you know what the wagon will be
