The Banana Express

Straight from Natal, SA; the LVLR has resurrected the famous name.
Obviously, it has to be hauled by a Garratt...

Luckily, no sheep were harmed! They've all run away! :D
Garratt number 4 has received lamp brackets on both bunkers to accommodate the new headboards (courtesy of MDC, many thanks Tony W). Also, original whistle has been reattached (removed during it's last rebuild due to obstructing the filler valve), placed off-center to the locomotives right hand side (or drivers side, for GWR folk).
The new build Garratt (currently under construction) should also be fitted with brackets as well.
Also, the 20hp Simplex has been storming ahead with it's construction! Hopefully the weather will be good for a bit so I can paint it...

A very authentic looking headboard.

Sadly that railway had been forced to close just before my 1st visit to South Africa.
