The first outing for the bolsters the kids smashed them up

so I stripped them and they are now in use as the bogies for my coal wagons. They run incredibly well and get even better with weight onboard! I have 2 more waiting to be built for my goods brake wagon.

Nope, instead I recycled them into my rolling stock that the kids aren't allowed to play with

if they break what they're given they loose it.

Nice train behind your Lady, I quite liked the tight curves slowing her down but not racing on the straight. A very sedate run, good work.

I'd be tempted to build a flower bed around it if possible.

Very sedate running train there Matt, lovely loco.

The track bed is looking a bit bland though so could you not box the track in and put some gravel down similar to what I did on my line? It also acts as a barrier for derailments.

Would like to see that loco on my line one day though when you visit the in-law's

I plan to box it in and add gravel like yours tom. And we are down your way for a few days just after Xmas (coming down 26th till 28th).

Laurence, the loop by the patio is due to become a small rockery/ flower bed. The straight is going to be a station. The end loop is going to be practical over the grass (one section to be rebuilt as a bridge) and the back is running through the flower bed that was freshly planted this year. The return to the station area will become a viaduct.

yep that worked ok and nice running. Once built up it will look great.
It's a good design that was quick to build and easy to alter, nice one.

This run left me smiling but feeling that the line needs more detailing finally. Then came the enormous head ache that is trying to work out what I want to do for detailing, and how to turn this line into a scenic line instead of just track on sticks.

This is how far I've got before I had to look after kids (SWMBO gone out).

I plan to build an engine shed (drive through) between the station area and the stone cutting. The second photo showing the 2 pieces of wood show where the station (woody bay) will be. Hopefully planting up the new flowerbed will add the the scenic feel at this end of the line.
