Ffestiniog 3 Ton Slate Waggons, and other interesting stuff

Found this new manufacturer through the 16mm e-group, and they make the holy grail of 16mm, the Ffestiniog 3 ton slate waggon! Despite being probably about as common as the often modelled 2 ton waggon, nobody has done a kit thus far, making many a rake of Ffestiniog Railway slate waggons not quite prototypical. The company is PVMR Engineering, they design the models themselves before getting them manufactured by a company called Shapeways using Three Dimensional Printing. Incidentally I encountered the work of Shapeways whilst doing my 3rd Year project at University, their work is very good. Anyway, as well as 3 ton slate waggons, PVMR advertise Hudson 4 wheel and bogie wagons. 3d printed stuff on ebay week ago Slaters are in the process of doing a brass etch to match their 2 ton. It will probably be speeded on now

Anyone know if these are easy broken How strong they are!

I'd better get in quick then - although I plan to wait until his braked version's available...

These do fill a gap in the market, and as Matt's said on 16mmngm, they should do well with those looking for something slightly bigger to run behind your average generously proportioned generic loco...

I'm gonna have a go at soldering one of these up. A build has been threatening for some time thats when Ive finished everything else.

Matt did say he may attempt to make the dropside door operable on the Hudson. Don't know how far he has got with that one.

I can imagine they'll stay around (I thought coopercraft ha stopped 16mm stuff?) giving that the flexiscale ones are about 3 times more expensive. Saying that, they are all different types of slate wagons.

They have their own masters! Colin used to mould some of his own stuff in the early days and I'm sure Peter has got them now.
