The Commotion Railway - a balcony and picnic railway
Welcome to The Commotion Railway (Norwegian: Rystelsesbanen).
To make a long story short... This summer I have been bit by the live steam garden railway bug. Problem is... I don't have a garden.
Instead I am lucky to have a long and narrow balcony, thus in June it started like this:
In July I got a Roundhouse Charles engine. The wider Billy and Lady Ann engines would scratch the walls.
Here is a photo taken from the control tower:
An upgrade to the track plan came in August:
Edit: Resolved photos.

Thanks everybody!
The track is LGB and the radius at each end is R1, ie 60 cm.
It is actually squeezed a little bit in.
The other curves and the points are R5.
As the railway is based on loose track, I now and then take the track
with me and just lay it out on the ground:

Yes, it is LEGO. I can even boast that the wagons are scratch built.

The only video I have from the balcony is this:
A contraption made from an old Mamod SE.2a steam engine and some LEGO bricks.
The balcony railway is currently removed. It got a bit cold out there, and I'm going to change the windows, so the balcony has to be cleared anyway.
Edit: Resolved video.

But this thread wasn't dead.
I have just forgot to post, so first some winter steam with the track just placed out on the snow:
More recently the track has been out on the grass again:
I will return to the main line at the balcony soon...

Not by any rule that I know of. That is some setting for a Garden Rail photo!rebelego:100999 wrote:Done. Thanks for reminding me.
