Another grand garden line. I just love that first picture 'down the alley'. How are those buildings made? They look great.

...and yes, i agree, any chance of a track diagram?

Ta! :D

The buildings to the right of "The Alley" are (appropriately) old Welshpool Pottery models, while the houses to the left are Cain Howley structures with dormers, behind an old Tuxcraft factory.

Trackplan?............... 8

My Christmas present pick-up truck posed in a "Christmas Past" cameo - an "old" photo of the W&LLR delivery truck parked outside the goods shed.

The back of The Alley exit curve is now "view-blocked".
(The Landy and buildings in the distance are only there temporarily)

Image

But, what's behind the "view-block"?

Image

The foundations are dug for a water feature - yay! :D
As you might be able to see, it was fun & games chiselling out the concrete before I could dig the hole!
I drew a blank trying to find a viaduct, so I've rearranged the "terraforming" on the new layout and now just need to build a bridge.

Here's t'other end.

Wow, I love the 'depth' you've created in that first shot Greg. It really looks as if the Landy is a fair old distance away!

Can't wait for further developments.

Finally you have joined the 'water feature' click! LOL. You could of always built a wooden viaduct, very GWR style.. ;)

It's all looking rather good now.

The new passenger facilities for Codnor Halt is complete apart from a couple of coats of varnish and a few posters etc..

Image

and the new engine shed for Brinsley Lodge is under construction..

There was a gap in the rainfall today, so I managed to get a bit more done :D
First of all, here's the "old" layout of Brinsley Lodge shed and the goods shed...

Image

I was never happy with how far from the station the goods shed was and despite trying to find a way to move "down" the garden, the only sensible move was to swap the two locations.
Here's the new layout....

Image

The top corner looking very forlorn, waiting for me to finish the engine shed kit  , but this will be the new view across the goods yard....

Image

Meanwhile, lifting the excess track from the old Brinsley formation has provided the components for "The Works" turnout at Codnor.

Image

Codnor Halt will be on the left, the works diesel shed will be out of shot to the right (among the oak trees) and "The Works" behind that.
The old Codnor station building (converted "Koala Brothers" toy house) will be the new Works Office"
The 4 new plantings will be joined by a few more plus some rocks to provide the scenic break between the top and bottom parts of the figure of eight!

Here's the route of the track crossing the site of the new water feature.....

Image

and here's the template for the bridge I'll be making...

Image

Now, where's that stack of round tuits???? ;)

Excellent! I really will have to visit, if only to work out where everything is in relation to each other.

Progress! Since we've been blessed with a high pressure system keeping the weather set "fair", I've managed to crack on with some work in the garden.

Here's the "back" of The Works, as seen from the path.
It's now situated as a "view block" for the hedgehog house, which itself acts as a view block for Codnor when looking from Westwood! ;)

Image

and here's a view of The Works.

Image

The site of Codnor Castle halt and crossing hut with new planting in evidence, the level crossing gates will go in when the road is laid to the right of the hut.

Image

Riddings Halt. (In the queue for a repaint!)

Image

and finally, the site of Brinsley Lodge and the goods yard.

Image

Lots of track laid out to check location and clearances etc, some just needing ballast. Hopefully the next set of photo's will look more like a garden railway again! :D

Another job nears completion!

After a CAT-astrophe during the build (the neihbours cat knocked the roof on the floor, the resulting "jigsaw" was a challenging repair!), the new engine shed is nearly done.
Here's a quick peak................. outside

Image

and inside...........

Image

Just the doors to hang, a few more "bits" to go inside, the roof to go on and it's ready to "plant" along with the rest of Brinsley Lodge which is now all fettled.

:hello2:

Just waiting for the plumber to install the pipes to the radiator then. ;)

Are those the Risk Assessment, Health & Safety notices and Accident Book there on the wall ?

Seriously though, I remain amazed at the level of detail and realism that many of you guys (and gals) go to. Keep up the good work so we can enjoy it too.

Sheds looking great mate, my loco crews have already started taking the micky out of the WLLR crews for having such a pleasant working enviroment to start in. They are just jealous as their shed is so cold, dark & damp.. ;)
