I'm quite pleased with how it looks so far. The curve on the crossing is five foot radius - at the other end of the veg patch it's a little tighter briefly, around 4 foot.

The first and third photos show the plum tree.

Just a note to say that yes, I am still here and some progress is being made.

Our Rector retired at the end of July and as both Churchwarden and Reader I and my colleagues seem to be exceedingly busy just now trying to keep three places of worship going. The craziest phase should be drawing towards a close now as we complete the Parish Profile but railway things have had to take the back burner for a period.

That said, the first set of points for the first station have been built (and, it seems, work OK!) and another set is under way. Here is the rough mock-up of how the station fits in:

A while since anything was reported from the EHLR. Waiting for simultaneous appearance of spare time and tolerable weather, but meanwhile sufficient pointwork has been constructed for the 1st passing loop & siding. Also the (very important) garden bench to go alongside said loop has been rebuilt in the manner of grandfather's axe.

One of this winter's happenings on the Talyllyn Railway has been the removal of No. 5B points at Quarry Siding - the slightly crummy stub trap points, removed as part of the shed project there. A suitable offcut of Peco track provides the wherewithal for the EHLR's tribute.

Hopefully the next update may show some actual 2012 construction in the garden...

Well, a little more trackbed got built today - about four and a half feet, with the same again part done and awaiting further supplies. This is where the trackbed widens out into the first station & loop, pointwork just loosely placed in position to give the general idea.

Passing loop and one siding (with trap points in memory of those at Quarry Siding); single platform adjacent to the path. The September post will give the idea, perhaps. Not so very big really - siding space here a little limited by desire to retain the nearby bench (convenient sitting place when steaming up - all timber replaced since the Sept photo!), hope to fit more in at the other station on the opposite side of the garden.

All points on hand levers, I'm sure the inspector will have a fit.

I've completely neglected your thread. The bridge is looking fantastic. It's nice to see things are progressing and before you know it you'll soon have a decent run laid. That retaining wall looks good, I've been thinking about getting some to hide the blocks on some of my raised sections. Keep plugging away fella its looking great so far.

Thank you both for the encouraging words. Steve, your VoR would of course look right at home on the bridge! Must organise some handrails for it some time.

The Cain Howley retaining walls are great, I have a little more in the shed awaiting attention. Hope to get the next section of this station finished off this week if possible. You'll notice in the distance the hole cut in the trellis for the line to go through.

Just a little taster today - checking clearances and alignments for the line as it exits the station at t'other end. Quite pleased how this should end up looking, a bit of motivation to move forward with the trackbed.

Very true - very stark just now, but enjoying a line that is around 3x longer than a couple of weeks ago (when you include sidings), and for the first time has pointwork, too!

A bit of a mishap at the weekend - leading to some additional precautions.
