Thanks to the break in the weather yesterday I was able to get out and run my brand spanking new Andel Baguley (only the second "new" loco I've ever owned) that I've previously reviewed under the "New Models" topic.

As expected from the video that Andy had posted, she has LOADS of pulling power and the manual speed controller is easily accesable and as smooth as you like!
Because it's been a while since anything ran on the W&LLR, I did have the opportunity to check out the "emergency stop" (main on/off switch), which, because of its easy access on the bonnet side is absolutely brilliant for those moments of mild panic - no fiddling about between buffer beams trying to centre a 3 position switch in a hurry :D

Here she is coming off shed for the first time, as well as performing very well I reckon she looks just the part.............................

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/MJr3g73UrFE?hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/MJr3g73UrFE?hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

All that's left to do on her now is a bit of light weathering and the new "Main Line" W&LLR diesel is complete! :D

EDIT: Thanks to a "senior moment" I'd typed 2007 in the end credits - I've now cut & pasted in the correct date. Many apologies to anyone who thought that they'd been caught in a space-time anomoly!

Looks & sounds fantastic mate, certainly got bags of power on her as well. I agree it needs a little weathering to tone it down a little.

As for the Moss... How does yours grow so well? I just get hint of green & thats about it in the really shady damp parts of the garden. I have even resorted to trying to transplant some off bits of the lawn. Love the way that even your buildings have moss on them.

Oh & why 25th Febuary 2007??

Cheers Shane,
As for the Moss... How does yours grow so well?.................

Oh & why 25th Febuary 2007??
I have an old plastic waste bin full of rainwater, mulch and horse droppings which I use to "water" the Rowlands Mix when I lay it - it may have something to do with it! ;)

2007 ?? Oops  (Now edited! ;) )

With the promise of better weather on the way (and the fact it's actually been dry enough to get out!), "this week, I are mainly been doin'............." Buildings! :D

Picked up a Tuxcraft School at Lincoln, so that's gone in as part of "Station Road" at the re-hashed Loscoe

Image

Also picked up some Cain Howley stuff from Steve at Back2Bay6 during the Lincoln show and they've given me the back row of "The Alley" at Westwood.

The approach to Westwood.
Image

The approach to Westwood from the top of Riddings Rocks.

Looking the opposite way from the proposed site of the crossing.
Image

Meanwhile "on the bench" are a pair of terrace cottages, cafe and pair of crossing gates to complete the scene at Westwood.
I need to get the angles and final positioning done and just waiting for the temperature to come up a bit more before getting the concrete down for the roadways :D

Very nice Greg!

Is that a garden railway or a model village?

Its coming on and the hard works paying off the atmosphere you are creating is fantastic and how do you get snowdrops to look the part as well.

New stuff out on the railway this morning to see how everything "sits" before getting fixed in place. The only addition will be the fencing.

The "Westwood Development" looking towards the station.

Image

and towards Riddings.

Image

The level crossing (the morning freight must be due...)

Image

Nothing new development-wise here, but a couple of "Unseen Angles" - I like to enjoy my railway even when the stock is still in boxes:D

It makes me feel nostalgic, even though I've never lived in a small English town. I'm not sure why that is. Beautiful scenery.

Well it's getting there :D  (Just like the old BR ads  )
I've straightened up the wayward angles before laying the roadway and the fencing is in place down "The Alley".

Here's one of the latest trees picked up from the garden centre, it makes a neat "view-blocker" at the end of the station loop.

Image

and here's Westwood Alley currently without the crossing gates

Image

with the view from the station.

Image

Meanwhile Loscoe is starting to look better - from the approach

Image

and looking across to the station, you have to visualise a brick built water tower on the RHS.

Its lookin great Greg super detail and a brilliant atmosphere, dont forget the diagonal strut brace on those crossing gates. You could add some lamps on each of them and if you so desired mesh gauze to stop straying animals xing the line. Though I think the moggy you add is now in two!

And so the sun sets on another day "a workin' on the railway".

Image

As well as some other jobettes around the line, I've installed the Pola fencing on one side of "The Alley"

Image

with the "mesh" fencing on the other side.

Image

Hopefully tonight I'll get the Loscoe water tower done along with some signals and the Westwood crossing gates :D

I want to live there. Which is too bad, really, because as you may not be aware, I was modeled in 304mm scale. :(

They're cut with an angle grinder from what used to be some kinda pet cage that I rescued from Loscoe tip (That's the real Loscoe tip) - recycle, recycle, recycle:D

I've got some fencing at other parts of the line (eg Codnor Wood) with longer spacing between the uprights, this was again cut with the grinder from a piece of the temporary safety fencing that you see in panels at building sites etc. This is brilliant stuff and I'm always on the lookout for more!

I've got some "finer" fencing (or will have once Mr.A. Grinder gets to work again ;) ) that currently impersonates a fire guard!

All of the above are completely FOC (a good price) but if you're willing to spend the money, there was some brilliant looking fencing on one of the "G Scale" traders stands at Lincoln.
