Came back from an early turn to find these conditions on the line. Now I realise that most people here have had garden railways for a long time but as mine has only existed since late June I got all excited about frost & misty weather on the line....

This morning.

Stock that had been left out since sunday...Ooops.

So as all my points were frozen (sounds familier) & the railhead had a good coating of ice I decided to first run No5.

After the "Icebreaker" No 5 had done a few rather wobbly laps it was time for some steam..
No 10 "Warrior" was selected & also used to defrost points by standing over the frozen blades. Did need the gas set quite high for a while before it settled down, made use of the extra blowing off for some photo's.

The last sets taken from 2 runs over the same spot to get pics. Selected my favs from the two. Anyway I felt it was worth getting a little cold in the garden..

Great set of pics and I was tempted to do the same myself this morning, but had to hang about for a second quote for the repairs to my Bug and I'm still hanging about for some guys to turn up and fit some extra loft insulation

Yep, it's that time of year again! Always leave your turnouts set for the "main" (at least until you get your point heaters installed

)

Thats odd Pauly, I get that sometimes on here but after a few refreshes they usually show. Not had an issue with Photobucket before now...Hmmm.

Greg, I had set all my points to main but it was the run round loop that was the problem...LOL. :D

BTW just found out with 2.4ghz RC I can run the Carrie from the living room next to the fire..

:D :D :D Be glad when I get a full circuit in so I don't have to go out there & run round the train!!

At least on a continuous run, if the points are all set to "main" you can get out there and run (don't ask why I give this advice!

)

Lovely pictures! Very chilling. End to end has its merits its just that cold weather running and run round loops present problems...
I do love it when people leave stock out on their lines and with accy stuff one can do that. I don't think I have anything I can leave out, the cats would probably get it!
A station looks so much better with a mouldering old wagon or two in the sidings!

I totally agree, and I bet if you look hard enough, you will have something (or, you will have something

).

Believe me, if I can put up with two neighbours cats and four asbo wielding hedgehogs, then the end result is definitely worth it!
OK, so I have re-rail the wagons occasionally
