A Visit to the Colwyn Garden Railway

On saturday I had the oppertunity to visit a local (to my school) 45mm line, which is owned by my old sailing teacher at school! So i took along Phoenix to give her a proper run around.

There's a lot of rail in that garden. Looks superb. Glad to see the Edrig stretching it's legs on a line like that, although you might want to remarshall the train in the last pic! Don't think the brakevan would be much good that way round.

I did end up running the loco round so it looked better but as soon as i re-coupled the gas ran out But she did perform really well even on the steep gradients, but didn't make it back up the really steep branch line with the carridges!

Ah nice, super railway! 5" railway too, lucky man! I like his Polly, did he purchase it or build it? As I've seen one that looks just like it, same shade of green etc.

I did mention to him about the JOL Will and he said that he may come down to the next open day if it's possible!

He purchased the Polly 2nd hand but it's having a few teething problems as he has had to replace the injectors, and there isn't much steam going to the pistons, but the guys at Llandudno say it's just teething problems which should wear out with constant use
