Our group was asked to exhibit at the B&W for the weekend, so a long 2 day event! Was good fun indeed, plenty of things to look at, and I was in for a treat on the Sunday evening!

So, here's a MAHOOSIVE amount of photos to browse through... or don't if you soon get bored...

DAY 1

Tony Bird's (yes, he came down from Cymru on holiday with his wife, and had a play on the layout (both days!!). He's the one responsible for many Crackers in the 16mm world. Even helped the Newhouse lads with theirs, which have visited the MHLR!

Then we packed up, and a load stayed in Bodmin overnight and went on the Beer n Jazz train, but I went home as I didn't know if I was coming back the next day or not.

DAY 2

Came back the next day... Was a bit busier as it was Father's Day.

I got to have a ride in the 08 shunter! And Ben let me start it up!

We put the battery isolators to ON, Ben gave the oil a prime, then it was time...

humm the b&W's or should that be the NRM's Beattie well tank no.30587 is in quite bad nick im told most of the driving wheels are cracked when we had it at the buckinghamshire railway center my mate crewed it for a day and was quite shocked at the state it was in.

the Beattie well tank is quite a nice engine to fire tho (iv fired 30585 many times altho its a nightmare to drive as the regulator is very stiff) ;)

Cool stuff Pete, I had a go at driving an 08 once pretty interesting, would love to go in the engine room of a big diesel like that.

It ain't a 47! or a 37! it's a 20 something, anything older than a 37 and it's beyond me, they all look the same from that era! :lol:

Nice set of pics! How the HELL do you manage to fit in the cab of that mini steam loco?????

As someones already said it looks like a crompton, a class 33 :D, a southern region diesel really.

Its not got a nose or a proper shaped power unit so its not an EE, its got left and right hand drive so it can only be a shoe box or a crompton, and as its the wrong sheped power unit it has to be a crompton class 33.

And I don't know what the diesel loco is, and does it really matter that much? Bodmin have a 10, 08, 37, 47, 33 and a 50 according to the website, so I guess it's one of those!!!
