Steam Up on the newly relaid SLR(S)

Post by SLRmidge » Sat May 01, 2010 6:41 pm

After weeks of feverish track relaying & general renewal by SLRpedro the Silverdale Light Railway (South) opened its doors to a local group of 16millers this afternoon. Some pics from me.....

'Compton Steel' makes its debut on another line in our area in the new limestone quarry ...

............ except the Real Thing is actually a lot more bashed and battered than any model I've ever seen! I'll dig out a couple of my photos next week to show you.........

Nice line, BTW (and great pictures!)

The area with the trellece and large conifers has been totally removed, and is slowly in the midst of being replaced with a limestone quarry and another industry. This is connected to the main line by a steeply curving branch line. The new work has made a few new photo opportunities, and there will be even more once the changes are complete, it should look stunning
