MHLRXmas 2009 Steam Up...

Post by mhlr » Sun Dec 20, 2009 10:41 pm

Sadly, no snow to complement it, but if there was, I think I would of had 0 visitors instead of the 2!    Awkward weekend this one, so many couldn't make it. Anyway, it was quite cold, so nice steam plumes, and I had the fire going outside the workshop to warm up by (however I am suffering the consequences of smelling like the bonfire right now...) ...

And his other diesel.

My Willi... erm Regner with it's cladding on (a right b**tard to fit, and the slats keep dropping out because the bands don't close enough, so I had to temporarily pack it with card.

Now that shot, I am rather.... no, VERY pleased with? Should I send it in sometime to SMT?!

That shot of Matilda has got to make the rear cover of SMT surely, it's one of the best Garden Rail photos I've ever seen.

Are you going to fit full height cladding to Bill?

LOL cheers, I may just have to send it into Mr Charman (or however it's spelt).

I don't want to fit full height cladding, however nice it would look, as it would be a right pain to cut the lengths and holes to go around the steam take offs etc.

You could probably get away with just doing the strips where there aren't any take offs, if you don't want to though, then I would take it off.

Great shots! I really need to visit.

Agree with Pauly though (  ), wearing a jumper is a good description! Either full height or not at all methinks. Also, you should be shot for putting that thing on the front of the Fowler- in fact, that'll probably keep that shot off the back cover, unless you leave it 'till next year and get it in the Nov. 10 one.

Great pics Pete! Wish I could have been there!
The cladding should in my opinion by full length but what ever pleases you! You could always use coffee stirrers I suppose. That pic of matila is superb, you should definitely send it in. I sent in a Christmas pic and heared nothing back from them at all though.
