got a load more last night!

very thick, heavy and icey.
I did try using Caradoc to clear the line but I couldnt keep the cylinders hot enough and was wasting pressure trying to keep them clear.

so I used battery locos which did clear the line eventually

that radiator looks a little clogged

the tramway had its own problems with a thin layer of frozen snow and didnt have access to a plough so had to repeatabley ram it to make progress.

and the WVR? forget about it!
they dont have any locos powerful enough to shift such high drifts.

Looks like what I am currently doing!
I have about 2 inches or it on the DVLR
I am making the most of it though!

The tram line is holding some very important goods which are trapped my the icey snow.

the problem isnt so much the snow but the frozen snow inbetween the tramways rail gaps which are causing trouble.

in the end I used a kettle of boiling hot water to clear it

of course once on the mainline things didnt get any better, even though the line had been plowed and several trains had already ran the stretch the trams low skirts and cow catchers kept getting caught on frozen ice and snow, rocks hidden by the snow and the overgroth which usually isnt a problem but because it was frozen solid it caused havoc with the sideskirts.

it soldiered on for a while...

forcing its way through snow filled cuttings (look at that snowbank!)

but after several derailments where the wheels just rode the ise up and over the rail heads...

its train was relieved by a light passenger train and it was sent back to the tramway.

the wagons where attached to the back of a local passenger

the driver looks frozen

the wagons where dropped at their destination but then a wire broke in the loco and I had to take it apart and get me old soldering iron out

once that pain wa staken care of the passengers where finally taken to their stops.

looks like you been having fun, I found out today how annoying frozen vegetation is at LMSjool's, a big chunk of frozen moss kept on taking off Uriens cylinder covers!

I've had an interesting day today clearing snow and collectnig scale christmas trees, you'll have to wait a few days for the video! The snow is such fun for some of us, I had a day off school today so got the oppertunity to play. Looks like you had an interesting day to pauly

You need to find someway of temporarily lagging the front and sides of the cylinders with something to keep 'em warm!

Or use your Regner or sumut!

The line always looks great covered in dusty snow.

but its got to be cleared if Im to run anything!

the plow coped much better in this soft snow

it was soon clear (note: Im posting in sections because theres so many pictures and it can get confusing when all done at once)

The tramway was having the same problems as yesterday.

but because the clearing of the mainline had gone so smoothly the plow was free to help.

now the lines are clear the passenger services can start.
but the locomotive needs a chance to warm its cylinders first.

the train was 2 coaches but Vincent couldnt handle 2 on the icey rails so it was taken down to 1 carriage

todays snow was a little easier to plough if you had allready ploughed yesterday! It was ligter and fluffier! I am really enjoying the intereting running complications and steam effects of the cold weathor and looks like I am not the only one!

THE WOODROW IS CLODSED!

the snow has become really heavy!
most of the structures on the woodrow are nothing more than mounds of snow now!
Iv already been out twice to shake the snow off the trees because it was pulling them down!

that little mound on the left is the workshop

that little gap is all that marks where the halt stands

and the snow has come up and over the loading bay entrance and those to bumps infront of the shed are 2 trucks!

Wow, its got rather heavy there!

I wish it would just snow here at all, let alone to a thickness like that!
Must have been slippy if a geared loco was stuggeling with 2 carriages

That is probs down to adhesion which regner locos lack quite often.

I couldnt run trains even if I wanted to

Iv just been out and tried to brush the snow off the tracks and found the tracks frozen below a layer of ice :-|
