Yesterday we returned from a long weekend in Tywyn. We had been visiting the Talyllyn Railway on their Beer Festival weekend and their garden railway was open as well! So it was Real Ale, narrow gauge steam engines and model locomotives. We left Cardiff last Thursday going North on Wales's equivalent of Route 66 the A470 after a bit more than 100 miles we turned left towards the sea and Mrs Jones's camp site. At the camp site we met up with friends who had come from Yorkshire.
From the camp site we had a very good view of the Talyllyn Railway.
To get our stock to the Garden Railway the next day we used the first train of the day going via Abergonolwyn. This is easy as the camp site has a halt.
The halt also had a very inquisitive bird. Not cropped and the zoom not used used!
We had tea at Abergonolwyn while waiting for the train to return from Nant Gwernol futher up the line.
