Is anyone aware of what EBay do about this type of action by a seller?.
If a buyer failed to pay he would adversely effect his rating

Hi Brian and Andrew - yes I am speaking from experience. It can be embarrassing blocking up a running line or set of points while I try to sort out derailed stock and of course the coupling chain makes it impossible to just pull the carriages apart to sort the problem out. I wonder if users of chop...

Pulling Power

I had a none modelling friend around today, he had expressed a wish to see OVLR in the flesh. As is usual on these visits he asked lots of questions about the hobby and running live steam in particular. One question he asked did have me stumped though. "Can these locos pull a person??"  I ...

I've just ordered the Wickham kit as a self inflicted BD present. Hope there is enough space to try out fitting R/C.

This is the first I have seen of Rail-Roadmodels. The Wickham looks interesting. Has anyone tried the kits, if so what are they like?.

you could try a large value capacitor across the LED. Something similar to the stay alive feature on DCC modules or coach lighting kits. It is not permanent as the capacitor will eventually discharge. I think that the coach lighting kit ca keep the lights on for up to a minute.

Tanks for that Andy. I have taken up with Big Jim's idea with a block of wood on the end of a bamboo cane. I have wrapped the block with soft leather and squirt a bit of WD40 on to it and run it along the track where it is at ground level. Saves bending over.

I've seen a tank wagon that dribbles either meths or parraffin (can't remember which) to soften the dirt. The drawback was that you needed to follow it quickly with something to remove the dirt altogether. ............... and at Butterley, we use a piece of what I think may well be carpet fitted ro...

Track Cleaning

Just finished running my RH Russell. After the run I set to and cleaned the track.I use apiece of cloth wrapped around a block of wood, it is fairly easy on the raised sections but hard on the back when the track is at ground level. on a visit to Butterly in the summer I saw a wagon dripping IPA on ...

T Cut and a cotton bud works on transfers on OO gauge bachmann products. Shake the container well and put a dab o T Cut on each individual transfer, leave for a few moments and lightly rub off with the cotton bud. If you press too hard the paint around the transfer area will go shinny. Best to try o...

I dithered for a while as there was an Accucraft 0-6-0 Electric loco in 45 mm Gauge at a similar price. The thought of having to modify and add a battery pack and speed control was the points that swayed me to the "Danny" - to be able to run without any further fixing other than the batter...

New Loco for The OVLR.

Just back from the Llanfair Garden Railway show where I bought a Prestige Models "Danny" 0-4-0 Diesel outline Loco coloured Black. All you need to get it running from out of the box are AA batteries. The loco is supplied with a battery holder to make up to 12v but I didn't have enough char...
