Re: The Leawarra Nayook Railway

Thanks Aaron,
Now just have to wait until all the sawdust from the chainsaw blows away before I run an oily steam loco, battery for a bit I suspect.

Re: The Leawarra Nayook Railway

In typical country town fashion, word got out quickly and plenty of help was available. The Shire men's priority was the re-establishment of the road access, while the railway track gang concentrated on track clearance. P4050005.JPG The press photographer covered the progress for the newspaper. P405...

Re: The Leawarra Nayook Railway

Thanks Rik,
Yes Graeme, it was the weight of water in the foliage. The trees had a lot of rot and I had already started removing some but on the Warringine side.
There won't be any shade to be had next summer around Nayook.

Have to say that's a fine job of half round panelling.

Re: The Leawarra Nayook Railway

Thanks Peter, The pictures only show where the main trunks came down . The tree itself came down directly above Nayook station and town buildings and didn't touch a thing. One knee on the tree hit the top of the wall behind the station and kept everything just high enough, another landed between the...

Re: The Leawarra Nayook Railway

Well having survived the depression and with passenger numbers increasing, the LNR management have decided to order a new loco (currently being built as we speak) however the weather has thrown a spanner in the works with a severe storm bringing trees down and completely blocking the main line at th...

A PS to the above,
Pete also said he hoped the front engine mount spring hadn't worn too far through the front cross member. But I see you've been there, done that.

Re: That Car I Keep Alluding To

A thorough job just like you do on your locos Aaron, and you can use the horn without the prince of darkness showing up! I have a little Healey with a Lucas electrical system so know all about the prince. Interestingly, I mentioned your purchase to my club friend and when I said a Tudor with wires a...

Re: That Car I Keep Alluding To

I admire your choice Aaron, I knew it would probably be a Ford from the tail light. A friend down here in Melbourne has three of them (at last count!) so have seen plenty of pics, and yours looks superb. Hope you get to enjoy many happy miles in it.

Yeah! saw that this morning, unbelievable.
After the loco passed the speed sign, I thought this must just be an explanation of what happened, but the truck was still to come.

Do you get the trucks to turn it into a 2-6-2, or are they an extra?
