Looks fantastic Peter. Really looking forward to seeing it with the roadway surfaced, drain covers, public art and all.
But, whatever you do, don't blink!

Re: A Kab for a Konrad
The new cab is looking great (you are lucky to have Tony Bird as a friend!) Please don't use glue for any of the brass bits, you will regret it later. Why are you having to glue the front spectacle rims? Thanks, indeed I am! I will glue the front spectacle rims because I will have painted the cab b...

Re: A Kab for a Konrad
Ok, I've been making quite slow progress with building my new cab, but I've been even slower in actually writing it up. In the last 20 months or so (although only really doing anything during the winter months). I began cutting out the cab from brass, and fabricating some angle for the joins. Here's...

New loco from Mamod: https://www.facebook.com/363086713795919/posts/1572202332884345 When I first saw this I assumed it to be a steam loco, and I was interested. From the comments, it appears to be electric, now I'm not... I know, bad Tom but I just don't understand why anyone would pay today's pri...

Re: Best beginners book
Now, if we produced a book between us, that would be something - you could do a chapter on the trackbed Andrew, Dwayne could do one on track, Hydrostatic Dazza on scratchbuilding steam locos, Peter Butler on plasticard structures, Tom on couplings and steam slow running, LNR on realism, Greg on ele...

What a superb video. Every shot is packed with interest. Love the background noises - especially the ever-present burbling of the stream.

Welcome!
Are you a member of the 16mm association? I found the handbook they send to new members the single most useful overview - it's brief but quite comprehensive, giving you a good idea of which direction to go in next pursuing your interests...

Atmospheric Railway
Now I'm not planning to do this myself, but interested to read about this 1:6 scale atmospheric garden railway, in the sense of atmospheric pressure not railway with a nice atmosphere.

This is brilliant. Even the drainage system is going to be a functioning miniature work of art!Peter Butler wrote: ↑Mon Jul 16, 2018 9:29 pm A small move in the right direction today.... the drainage pipes have been sited so that the inlet, which will have drain grilles fitted, are placed where they will be in the road gutters.

Re: SM32 Minimum radius
John Rogers' Pigsty Hill is laid with 14" radius Faller track. He runs a Roundhouse Bertie round it with no apparent issues. (Videos on Facebook for those who are willing to go there.)
The Bertie has a very short wheelbase - a Millie wouldn't do a curve that tight.

For the benefit of those not on the dreaded Facebook: Robert Binnie has just posted a link in the 16mm Association Group. That just oozes atmosphere - such a lot of detail and interest on a single wagon with the crane, jacks, tools and materials! The tractor wagon looks superb too - those large chain links fixed to the deck look very effective.
