You can resize them in Paint (look under windows accessories in All Apps). Resize is an option on the 'Home' tab. I would suggest saving them with another file name so you preserve the original - not sure how 'lossy' the reduction is.

Aliexpress is quite trustworthy; but they represent different Chinese traders (it's an online 'shop window' if you will). Most are reliable and trustworthy, and a few are not. Because everything comes from China, returns can be difficult, ans sometimes expensive.

Thoroughly enjoyed that video Rik. Your line is very attractive, with lots of scenic breaks and plenty of variation. :)

I just can't get anything right these days!
Sorry - it wasn't a criticism; I was trying to be helpful. And, on the contrary, you seem to be getting a lot right these days!

Looks like it might be possible to put a limit in the code for the forum, https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtop ... 0&t=577794
so all images resize, but I can't find anything that does it 'on the fly', so's to speak.

It's very much a case of this being in a queue at the moment. My intention is to try and utilise the bogies supplied, although the front one is 3 axle - I would prefer just two axles in the front bogie.

Very nicely done, especially the quality of the finish. Did you use filling primer? Rik Indeed Rik, the colour gives it away! I 'hardened' the wood first with sanding sealer before spraying. I used filling primer when I did boat modelling, particularly on plank on frame hulls where a smoother finis...

Oh, very nice. I was thinking of a stripwood chassis, most of my scratch built wagons & coaches use something similar. Are those Binnie wheels & axle boxes? The wheels are Binnies, I think (they were in my left over box, so not a 100% sure) and the axle boxes are Brandbright - I shall have ...

I also did one of these last year - I think it was someone on this forum who noticed the boxes in stock at the Works. Mine is also 32mm - I knocked a chassis together from some 10mm stripwood http://i1036.photobucket.com/albums/a442/philjames-cro/IMG_0993_zpsb6a607c6.jpg but didn't go quite so liber...

Copper contacts behind the driving wheels will confirm if its track powered - I've just removed them on mine. I've just run the bogie from a 3.7v lipo battery and it seemed OK, if a little 'growly', so whilst it's nominally 12v, I don't think it will matter.

Hi Big Jim                 Well I thought I'd take a punt on it - at that price it would be rude not to. It arrived today, well packaged.                  Yep, there were a few bits missing; horns from the roof, electrical bits from the battery holder, the odd seat. But this is a conversion project...

Hi Rik, I've successfully used these http://www.smallscalelights.co.uk/viewitem.php?productid=63 to connect upper and lower halves in a 3v model - smaller than a servo plug/socket. If you need more than two connections, similar products are available with up to 5 connectors. http://www.modeltrainsuk...

The colour looks more like a burgundy. I painted my garage door last year with a shade that looks very similar - Sandtex 10 year Exterior Gloss - classic burgundy. The overall finish isn't as dark as it appears on the label on the tin!
